Welcome to Robertshaw's Farm Shop
We're a family business situated on the hills in Bronte Country, Thornton, Bradford. Our Award-Winning Farm Shop is situated on our working sheep farm. We produce our own prime lambs for our Award-Winning Butchers. We're more than just a Farm Shop with our Garden Centre, Bakery and Animal Petting Croft.
Robertshaw's Since 1929
The Robertshaw's family have been bringing local food to your dinner plates for 4 generations.
Where It All Began
Grandad Harry Robertshaw opened up his butchers shop in Halifax. His son Andrew would often help out at the shop - this was when the idea of Robertshaw's Farm Shop first began.
The Start of The Farm Shop
Andrew Robertshaw moved to the farm where we are now. He began selling potatoes at the side of the road and, over the years, extra barns were added as well as a shop.
3rd Generation Robertshaw
As a small boy, James Robertshaw, Andrew's son, worked in the shop. James added a butchery and learnt the Robertshaw's butchery skills passed down through the generations. In the year 2000, Andrew sadly passed away and James inherited the shop.
As the shop grew we decided we needed an update to keep up with the times and were professionally re-branded. We changed the name to Keelham Farm Shop and won numerous awards along the way.
The Family Name
In 2019 we changed the name of the shop to Robertshaw's Farm Shop: the family name. Harley Robertshaw, James' son, joined the team and is a butcher like his father. He'll be the fourth generation Robertshaw.
The Farm Shop
We’re fourth generation farmers and butchers. The shop is situated on our working sheep farm and we produce our own prime lambs. We rear over 200 breading ewes and produce just over 350 lambs. The lambs we produce on the farm are sold in the farm shop by our team of 30 butchers who have over 200 years of experience between them, meaning nothing goes to waste.
We have great relationships with local farmers and buy the best quality meat in Yorkshire auction marts. Owner, James visit at least three auctions a week, often buying award winning beasts.
Fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables. A beautiful rainbow as you enter the shop. you'll notice we don't package our fruit and veg, we try where possible to leave it loose so that you can buy as much or as as little as you like, while looking after the environment.
We hand pick our produce and it arrives fresh every morning before we open, direct from the markets and growers. You'll find it last much longer than the supermarket produce as it gets to your plate much quicker from when it has been pickedfrom the fields.
You'll find wines to complement your meal which have all been handpicked by us. We have a huge range of Yorkshire Gins and Tonics and we have been awarded by CAMRA for our range of Yorkshire regional beers. We one have of the largest ranges in Yorkshire! We also have a selection of beers and ciders from around the world, along with a selection of spirits.
We are proud that 95% of our delicatessen produce is from Yorkshire. We home roast our cooked meats using meat from our butchers. Our award-winning pies are homemade in our bakery. We also create our own salads and pizzas and work closely with local suppliers to bring you authentic curries, cheeses and soups.
Our team work through the night to create freshly baked breads, confectionary and pies. Everything is made from scratch from recipes passed down through generations.
Bakery Shop and Takeaway
Pick up a hot sandwich to takeaway or choose from our range of delicious freshly baked items made in our bakery. Pick from freshly made creams to homemade breads.
3rd and 4th Generation Robertshaws
James the 3rd generation Robertshaw was passed down the farm shop from his Dad Andrew, in 2000. James has worked at the shop since he was a little boy.
4th Generation Robertshaw
Harley, James' eldest son, has also completed his butchery training, following in his father's footsteps.
Open every day to provide educational visits to families and school visits. We feel it is important to teach children where food comes from, whilst giving them the opportunity to interact with animals they wouldn’t normally get to see.
We have plans to extend our Animal Croft, putting in more animals, interaction days and more educational information on how animals are developed and the food chain.
What our customers say about us
First visit yesterday and what a lovely farm shop. Lovely fresh veg and meat as well as lots of other tempting things 😂 I thought it would be more expensive than it was so that was a bonus! Will definitely be returning.
Fantastic products & service. Recently purchased Hampers for work colleagues Christmas gifts. Nothing was too much trouble, Sue and her team were fantastic. So helpful with advice and information. They helped make wonderful gifts for our whole team. Excellent quality, efficient service - couldn't ask for anything more. Highly recommend Robertshaw's and will definitely use their services again. Brilliant

Excellent quality food, friendly staff, pleasure to shop there. It’s not only better quality than supermarkets but better value too. Three massive racks of ribs for a tenner! Can’t fault it
This is the best farm shop we have used bar none - good selection of meats, jars, dried food stuffs, alcohol with fabulous deli counter and to top it all off reasonable prices 👍
